Meet The Team

Phil Lacey

Artistic Director - on leave

Phil joined Seattle G&S in 2017, and has directed our productions of HMS Pinafore, The Who’s TOMMY, CABARET, and The Pirates of Penzance. He is an award winning director, choreographer, composer, and pianist. He also runs the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts in Leavenworth, WA.

He first experienced G&S while watching the iconic film Chariots of Fire as a child, and grew up singing “He is an Eeeennnnglish man” and other snippets from the canon with no idea where they originated. Much has changed since then, but he still loves gathering people around the piano and exploring all the fun of Gilbert & Sullivan in addition to the rest of the classical and contemporary music theater worlds.

Catherine Weatbrook

Board President

Catherine grew up watching Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society productions - starting with Pinafore in 1976. While in school she performed in Pirates, Pinafore, and Mikado, as well as other musical theatre regulars before shifting over to the technical side of production. After college, she worked on software systems, remodeled a house, raised a family, founded the Crown Hill Center for Arts and Education where G&S has their rehearsal space and scene shop, ran for public office, as well as rescued and retrained dogs. In 2016 she joined the Seattle G&S Board with the objective of settling the society on a course to produce for at least the next 65 years. Most recently she got an electric bike and can be seen running errands while her dog rides along.
