Outreach

The Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society Outreach Program educates, entertains, and engages groups of people in the performance and appreciation the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. Whether your group is an educational institution, a retirement living community, a church fellowship, or another organization where people gather to learn and to enjoy each other’s company, the Seattle Gilbert and Sullivan Society Outreach Program can cater its activity directly to your organization’s needs. We can produce any type of event, ranging from a preview of our next production by the Society’s performers to a lecture-based educational forum by our production staff.

Examples of the range of programs we have produced previously include:

bulleta musical revue of many of the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas with a focus on the Society’s upcoming production
bulletnote: we can arrange our performance around specific themes, such as pirates, boats, pretty maidens, or silly baritones
bulletan mixture of narration and music, educating the audience about the musical history that lead to the development of the Gilbert and Sullivan canon (can be geared towards an audience of either youth or adults)
bulleta performance workshop for groups wishing to perform their own Gilbert and Sullivan operetta

We are certainly willing to discuss any other ideas for programs, and will do our best to provide a fun and rewarding program that will best serve your needs. At the time of performance, we request a reimbursement fee that can be covered directly by your organization or by tax-deductible donations from the audience members.

Please contact our Outreach Program Chair, Richard Hodsdon, for more information or to book an event.
