Membership PolicyWe have two types of members, performing members and contributing members. Performing members are those who volunteer their time and talent to make our shows possible. They include the actors, musicians, and theatrical staff who are listed in the program. Contributing members assist financially in the production of our shows. They are also listed in the program. An individual may be a member in either or both categories. If you do not want your name printed in the program, we will honor that request. A contributing member may join or renew at any time. However, we calculate each member's benefits from January to January. This is a policy that we have established to relieve our staff during the busy show production season, and to provide our members with a clear tax year membership. In any case you are entitled to the benefits for one full year. In the Fall of each year, we send a renewal mailing (with address correction requested) to all members. We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. All monetary contributions by members are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Receipts for donations will be sent to contributors on request. Some employers will match your donation. If you will pick up the forms from your employer, fill in your part, and send the form to us with your donation, we will do the rest. If your employer matches all or part of your donation, we 'credit' you for the total amount. |
Would you like to join the Society? Our contributing members have always been the backbone of the Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society. It is they who have allowed us to continue to grow artistically over the past 44 years. No matter what your interests, talent and skills, we have many opportunities for you to help out - as Members, Volunteers or Performers. |
