Grand Duke Orchestration Available!

Brand New Orchestration of The Grand Duke

Grand Duke Orchestral Score

This is a completely computer-printed (in "Finale") score and was based on copies of the orchestra music that was contemporary with the 1896 premiere of the show.  The orchestration (or perhaps translation) was accomplished by a team under the direction of Alan Lund, our Music Director.

While not an academic "critical edition," we believe that this score is as accurate and complete as possible, and is eminently playable.  It clearly shows off the fun and relative complexity of Sullivan's final collaboration with Gilbert.

All of the songs in the original show are included.

The full orchestration includes the following parts:

Flute 1
Flute 2
Oboe
Clarinet 1
Clarinet 2
Bassoon 1-2
Horns 1-2
Cornet 1 in A & B-flat
Cornet 2 in A & B-flat
Trombone 1-2 (Includes Bassoon 2 cues)
Bass Trombone
Drums
Violin 1
Violin 1
Violin 2
Violin 2
Viola
Cello
Contrabass

All scores are comb bound so they  lie flat when opened.

The price for the full orchestration set is $500.
Extra parts are $30 each.
Full Conductor's Score with vocal lines is $175 (two volumes)
Piano/Vocal score (Chappell score with corrections and dialogue) is $20.

We also have available a 3-CD set of the above version of The Grand Duke for $25, and a DVD of our performance for $30.

Shipping charges and applicable sales tax are added to all orders.
